Gold Crown Press gave fourteen inner-city elementary school students an introduction to proper English elocution, pronunciation and composition in our thirteenth annual Read-A-Thon. A corps of Gold Crown Press employees—these included Sam from packaging, Joanna from public relations, Gerald the editorial assistant and Elizabeth the intern—distributed free copies of Strunk and White’s classic writing manual "The Elements of Style," from the back of a flatbed truck. Those who showed progress were rewarded with hugs and candy. It isn’t often that you get to do a good deed and have fun at the same time. Rest assured, we’ll be doing this again next year.
